USA Today Bestseller

New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis does it once again with a heartfelt story of family, forgiveness, and secrets that have the power to change the course of more than one life.

When Maze returns to Wildstone for the wedding of her estranged bff and the sister of her heart, it’s also a reunion of a once ragtag team of teenagers who had only each other until a tragedy tore them apart and scattered them wide.

Now as adults together again in the lake house, there are secrets and resentments mixed up in all the amazing childhood memories. Unexpectedly, they instantly fall back into their roles: Maze their reckless leader, Cat the den mother, Heather the beloved baby sister, and Walker, a man of mystery.

Life has changed all four of them in immeasurable ways. Maze and Cat must decide if they can rebuild their friendship, and Maze discovers her long-held attraction to Walker hasn’t faded with the years but has only grown stronger.

The characters in this story are very real and complicated. The characters make this story worth your time…even with the sappy ending. I would like more…but there isn’t any🤷🏻‍♀️
  • A feel-good, smart, thoughtful read!

    By Missy@Bookgasms
I am a softy when it comes to a second-chance romance, especially one that also crosses with a reconnection with old friend, who are more like family. Which is just what I got with The Forever Girl and I loved all the time I spent with Maze, Cat, Heather, and Walker. And while The Forever Girl is a wonderful, smart, sexy redo of Maze and Walker’s romance, it’s also so much more. It’s a celebration of friendship and accepting each other’s faults and forgiving each other for past hurts. I loved the friendship between Maze, Cat, Heather, and Walker. Loved that while they weren’t blood related, they were still family in each other’s eyes. Family who had each other’s backs regardless of what or who was wrong. If you’re looking for a feel-good, smart, thoughtful read, don’t hesitate to pick up The Forever Girl today!
  • Perfect Wildstone Addition

    By KLowe1985
The Forever Girl is typical, perfect Jill Shalvis and bonus, we get to return to Wildstone and what a treat it is. Cat, Walker, Heather and Maze were a tight foursome when they were in high school, life has happened since then and they have not all been together since that time. Cat's wedding has provided them all with the opportunity to be together but also the chance to discover if the magic of their friendship still exists. In addition to friendship, maybe there is something more there for Maze during this trip back to Wildstone. You will not be disappointed with The Forever Girl - the emotions from friendship, romance and belonging are all beautifully written by Jill. Every child deserves parents like Cat in their corner. My favorite part involves some torn silk on a window sill - just you wait!

All of the characters were engaging and fun. A good snowy Sunday read.
  • Family of the heart 💜

    By Newberryd
Being a family has different meanings for different groups of people. In this story, a traditional family (mom, dad, and kids) adds foster children to their family and treats them all as family. At least for as long as the kids will let them. Walker and Maze are two of those foster children who grow up with some heavy suitcases of baggage. Being a grown up doesn’t mean the baggage goes away. Everyone is brought together during Caitlin and Dillion’s pre-wedding activities. Maze and Walker need to face their past while coming to terms with their family of the heart. Jill Shalvis creates the little town of Wildstone and all the various characters who live there. The stories in the series all have a connection to the town, but the town itself does not become a character. It’s time to reread the series to find any character connections I may have missed by reading them so far apart and only once.
  • Wonderful

The Forever Girl explores the relationship between three women and one man who once lived as siblings. Caitlin was the child of the couple who took in the others as fosters. The story centers around the group gathering before Caitlin’s wedding. Secrets are uncovered, fears exposed, some dreams recognized as others fade. Author Jill Shalvis peels the layers of her characters’ personalities slowly drawing her readers completely into the story, while showing there’s more than one kind of second chance. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.
  • Wonderful Forevever Story

    By threers
The Forever Girl is a detailed dramatic tale of a surrogate family separated by tragedy and their road to forever. Caitlen and her family took in foster kids. The final three were Heather, Maze and Walker. They were together a year but a year was long enough to make them family, something the three definitely needed. And then it was gone. Years have past. There were times they were sort of together. There were times of avoidance. Caitlen wants her "family" back and she has no problem guilting them into staying for a week before her wedding. The Forever Girl might be fiction but it is fiction riddled with lessons. This is a story of discovery. This is a story of acceptance. This is a story maturity. This is a story confession and growth. All of a sudden I'm sorry is enough to bring them together as a family. This is a story of a relationship, a romance finally coming to fruition. 1/12/21 The advantage of living on the west coast is releases show on my kindle at 9 pm. Loved my bedtime story.
  • Family!

    By Evergreenbrdx
Maze Porter was so sure she was all alone but she forgot family is forever and everyone deserves love. Family comes is all different shapes and sizes. Maze, Caitlin, Heather and Walker are family. What a beautiful story of friends and sticking together through good and bad times. I couldn’t put it down.
  • Best one yet!

This was one of the best books from Ms Shalvis that I have read and I’ve read all of her books. This was filled with characters that tugged at your heart and were very relatable even if their circumstances weren’t. Who wouldn’t love Walker? So competent and self aware but still very vulnerable underneath. And Maze, sometimes you wanted to slap her upside the head and say, “wake up!” Then she would do something so unlike her and done out of “love”. The rest of the characters were just as interesting as the main ones. As usual, I’m in awe of Jill’s writing and am kind of bummed that I finished the book as I didn’t want it to end.
  • Emotional, wonderful story

Family, drama, love, angst...Jill Shalvis’s newest book has it all, and it is So. Freaking. Great! Sometimes it’s so hard to review a book you love hard, because it can be difficult to walk that fine line between gushing too much and not giving major plot points away. I will say that as intriguing as the blurb for this book is, the actual story has so much more to offer. Forgiveness and acceptance are big themes of the book, especially where Maze is concerned. She keeps herself very contained into herself and away from Caitlyn, Heather and especially, Walker. The dynamic between this patched-together family is both heartwarming and heartbreaking, with lots of laughter and tears. I stayed up way past my bedtime reading this book, because I just could not put it down. Filled with trademark Shalvis humor and emotion, The Forever Girl is a 5 star winner in this readers book!
