From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Book Lovers and Beach Read comes a sparkling novel that will leave you with the warm, hazy afterglow usually reserved for the best vacations.

Two best friends. Ten summer trips. One last chance to fall in love.

Poppy and Alex. Alex and Poppy. They have nothing in common. She’s a wild child; he wears khakis. She has insatiable wanderlust; he prefers to stay home with a book. And somehow, ever since a fateful car share home from college many years ago, they are the very best of friends. For most of the year they live far apart—she’s in New York City, and he’s in their small hometown—but every summer, for a decade, they have taken one glorious week of vacation together.
Until two years ago, when they ruined everything. They haven't spoken since.
Poppy has everything she should want, but she’s stuck in a rut. When someone asks when she was last truly happy, she knows, without a doubt, it was on that ill-fated, final trip with Alex. And so, she decides to convince her best friend to take one more vacation together—lay everything on the table, make it all right. Miraculously, he agrees.
Now she has a week to fix everything. If only she can get around the one big truth that has always stood quietly in the middle of their seemingly perfect relationship. What could possibly go wrong?

  • Great read

Fun read. Love the humor and writing. Highly recommend
  • Painfully slow and tedious

I’ve enjoyed other books by this author but I could not finish this book. It was hard to like either of the main characters. It also jumped around in a very illogical and hard to follow order. Just ugh.
  • Expected a lot more from the hype

First book I’ve DNF. I got to chapter 15, in two days, because I kept taking breaks so I could figure out if I wanted to finish it or not because I was so bored. I’m giving it two stars because every time I was at my point of giving up on it one of them would say something funny, but that’s all. I particularly liked the comment about his cat in the prologue, but it just went downhill from there. I didn’t even care enough to find out what they had a fight about honestly. I may pick this back up in a few months and give it/ the author another try but as of right now neither are for me.

This book was so real, the problems they had, the way they solved them, how their lives were built. I loved it!

  • Slow start but…

Slow start, but also really fun story. Felt like it was a little drug out for extra chapters maybe but all in all I liked it.

Started a little slow for me but once it got going I couldn’t put it down. I laughed, I cried, I had second hand embarrassment and related to this book so much. I’d seen it on a bunch of must read lists and definitely would recommend.

  • Ho Hum!

I love a little sappy from time to time, but this was sickeningly sweet. Not one move or sentence unexpected.
