Description

Perfect summer reading! Don’t miss the #1 New York Times bestselling blockbuster and Reese Witherspoon Book Club Pick that’s sold over 2 million copies–now an Apple TV+ Limited series starring Jennifer Garner!

The “page-turning, exhilarating” (PopSugar) and “heartfelt thriller” (Real Simple) about a woman who thinks she’s found the love of her life—until he disappears.

Before Owen Michaels disappears, he smuggles a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her. Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers—Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother.

As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss, as a US marshal and federal agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was. And that Bailey just may hold the key to figuring out Owen’s true identity—and why he really disappeared.

Hannah and Bailey set out to discover the truth. But as they start putting together the pieces of Owen’s past, they soon realize they’re also building a new future—one neither of them could have anticipated.

With its breakneck pacing, dizzying plot twists, and evocative family drama, The Last Thing He Told Me is a “page-turning, exhilarating, and unforgettable” (PopSugar) suspense novel.

A well developed story comes to an unresolved and abrupt ending. Total waste of time.
  • A waste of time

I don’t understand how this boring, unbelievable story got so many goods AND its very own series. It’s really just not very interesting.

A surface piece. Pop music book. Unsatisfying.

I think this book was really good. My only criticism is that the plot line missed some opportunities to take the plot to a higher level, but this is so subjective. Others may not agree, but I think the author set the foundation for some twists that were never exploited, the result of which was to leave some loose ends. Then again, perhaps what I perceive to be loose ends may in fact be walkways to the sequel.

I never expected that this book would travel such a precarious path. I was excited every time I picked it up to delve back in. Unexpected, difficult choices are made. Every conundrum begins with fear. Then, before you expect it, your soul soars, because each decision, at its core, is refreshing and right. “The Last Thing He Told Her” never disappoints. I truly never wanted it to end. It was constantly in the forefront of my mind, and will remain so, because it’s one those books you’ll enjoy remembering.

This is such a captivating story that pulled me in immediately. Such a page turner, I hated when I had to stop reading to do other things. I finished the book in four days & I haven’t read a book this quick in years because of how invested I was in the characters stories! I will say though, the ending brought tears to my eyes, I won’t give details. You’ll just have to read it for yourself! But highly recommend & I hope others enjoy this book as much as I did. Now it’s time to watch it on Apple TV to see if it plays out how I envisioned it.

Enjoyable read for the most part. I had higher expectations for plot depth, expecting a few more twists. still 100x better than anything I could have conjured up. C++
