Description

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa brings us a snarky and sassy small-town romantic comedy full of a swoon-worthy billionaire, a second chance romance and big laughs. Sometimes what you're looking for is right where you left it. Every summer Mane Cantú came to Luna Harbor to visit his grandfather. When we were teenagers we fell in love. We promised to be each other’s forever. He promised to come back for me. Spoiler alert: he broke all of the promises. I grew up, but that big heartbreak was it for me. I built a successful lavender farm and a shop and that’s now my only priority. All is well until Mane’s grandfather falls ill and all the Cantú family comes back to Luna Harbor. For good. What’s worse is that Mane’s now famous. Like, real-life famous, not Luna Harbor famous. He made a name for himself with his band and he and his perfect face dare to open a bar next to my store with his bandmates. Well, he may have started the war, but I plan to finish it. Except now we’re seeing each other everywhere, and I’m starting to remember the way we used to be. Still, I’m sticking to my guns. I’m not falling for the prodigal son. Until one kiss changes everything.

  • THE DISCRIMINATORY- “CLEAN” - NEVER RECOMMEND

DNF! Writing your characters saying that they’re “clean” rather than say they have a negative sti/std test is absolutely ignorant! ESPECIALLY, after one or both has performed oral sex on the other. You do know that an STI/ STD can be spread orally. Your using that word means that YOU feel that people with an STI/ STD are “unclean”. Nice way to polarize, isolate, discriminate and dismiss an entire group of people (1 in 4) who are allowed to have sex and be sexual. EDUCATE YOURSELF! #sexshaming #sexeducati̇on #sexdiscrimination #ignorance #discrimination

This book could have cleared a lot of stuff up had the characters actually had conversations. Instead, it’s some deep dark secrets (that really, weren’t either deep or dark, but I can see traumatic… despite her not remembering the incident). Then it’s as if they hit their word quota and went “welp, time to wrap all this up in the next two chapters.” All conflicts solved, items discussed, and setup for the next book. Yeah, it’s a free book for a reason. Going to pass on the next ones.

The writing in this is beautiful....poetry. I appreciate that the author focused on the story and characters, rather than filling the book with multiple sex scenes requiring 4 pages each time. This is a good general story, and a romance. There is humor. The main characters have depth. The relationships don’t come across as forced, unbelievable, or superficial. I’m betting this author could write fiction in any genre and I would enjoy it.

Over the past year, I have been bingeing all of CB's books and have fallen in love with all of them. This first book in the Luna Harbor series blends some of favorites and introduces some new interesting ones that I can't wait to get to know better. This book has such heartbreaking angst that I couldn't walk away from it. I needed to know that these characters were going to be ok and come through the other side of everything that they have been through. I wanted to know all of the things and before I knew it the day was gone. There is so much emotion in this story that I just can't get over it. Luna Harbor is going to be another favorite place to visit and I can't wait to go back.

You will 100% fall in love with Mane and Nydia and their story. It's one of unfortunate misunderstandings, young love gone awry and, of course, how they get to their HEA. It is also the start of a new series for the author. One thing I always appreciate from her book is how the character's thought process seems very real. It is the way I could see myself acting/treating a situation and therefore it makes relating to her characters easy. Pick up this lovely read and enjoy! (Although now I REALLY want a recipe for lavender vanilla cupcakes!)

What a welcome to Luna Harbor!  This first story in the newest series by Claudia Burgoa is going to melt your heart. She is the queen of angst and heartbreak, then she sews you back up again with a brilliant ending!  This can be read as a standalone, but as an avid fan of her work I have read so many of her stories and was excited to see past characters get their stories told! This is the story of Nydia and Manelik. Childhood best friends and sweethearts until tragedy and miscommunication tear them apart for years. When Manelik's family comes back to Luna Harbor to help the patriarch of the family, his past collides with him in a big way. I love how this author draws the story out, how she gives glimpses of each character's back story. It just gives a reader so much more to look forward to as the story moves forward. It's a bit of a mystery and it was so moving to read what really happened to tear Nydia and Manelik apart. Boy do I have questions at the end though, that I am hoping with more books in this series, Ms. Burgoa will give us readers the answers!! You will know what I mean when you read this too!

Finally You (Luna Harbor #1) is a fresh and fantastic way to start out this series. Manlik and Nydia have the best kind of love hate relationship and these enemies to lovers captured my heart. They were childhood sweethearts and due to misunderstandings and miscommunication, their relationship ended. There was no closure and this created a lot of hurt and hostility between them. It’s obvious they’re still holding onto their pain however, it’s also obvious that their feelings for each other never waned or died. I could feel their emotions, the sexual tension and their love. Nydia appealed to me with her hardworking (she owns a lavender farm and creates lavender products which I absolutely love), sweet nature yet she’s tough and sassy with a little bit of a stubborn streak. Mane, the sexy and successful drummer for Too Far From Grace is stubborn as well (considering he and Nydia have that streak, the push and pull aspect between them was on fire) and an unassuming romantic. And reading about them rekindling their love made me swoon and left a lasting smile on my face. Claudia Burgoa not only created a beautiful and heartfelt story with Mane and Nydia but the excellent cast of secondary characters (the Too Far From Grace band and the Cantu family) are heavy with kinship, family banter and witty comebacks. This really adds a lot to the well written storyline and makes it quite entertaining. I adore everything about Finally You, it’s a must read and I’m definitely looking forward to reading the series.
