Not one of Griffins best efforts. The C-46 mentioned throughout Special Ops was not manufactured by Boeing. Manufactured by Curtis Aircraft just prior to WWII , as the Curtis Commando, used primarily to fly thr Hump into and out of China.
This is the second reading and it didn't get any better!

Butterworth has a habit in successive books in his various series of lifting descriptions - usually a few sentences or a paragraph or two at most - to bring the reader "up to speed" with the characters' background. In "Special Ops", however, he lifts whole chapters from "The Aviators" which is dishonest when marketing a "new" book with a store shelf price of $25.95! I am disappointed at this chicanery.
W.E.B. Griffin is great, but his ebook editors are illiterate

I've always enjoyed his books, but it seems all his ebooks are re-typed and edited by non native English speakers. The errors are numerous.
